Flirting & matching
Finding people in Discover
How the feed works, and how to make it show you better people.
Discover is a vertical feed. Scroll up and down through full-screen profiles, with no cards to flick away and no deck to get through.
Why you’re seeing someone
Discover is built from your preferences: who you’re looking for, your age range, and your distance radius. Beyond that it favours people who are actually active and who have real content on their profile, rather than empty accounts.
See less often
If someone isn’t for you but you don’t want to block them, use See less often. They drop out of your feed, and Flirty takes the hint for similar profiles.
Distance
Distance is worked out from a coarse location, not your exact position, near enough to be useful, not precise enough to find your front door.
If distances look wrong, make sure location permission is granted and you’ve opened the app at least once since. Without a real location fix, Flirty can’t place you.
Filters
Everyone can set the basics: who you’re interested in, age, and distance.
Advanced filters are a premium feature and let you narrow things down considerably further.
Search
If you know who you’re looking for, search by name. You can also share your profile as a QR code, handy in person.
Travel mode
Travel mode lets you browse somewhere you’re not, which is useful before a trip rather than after you land. It’s a premium feature.
