Notifications aren't arriving

Missing a flirt because a notification didn’t arrive is genuinely annoying. Work down this list. It’s ordered by how often each one turns out to be the culprit.

1. Check Flirty’s own settings

In Settings → Notifications, make sure the category you’re missing is switched on. Flirts, messages, and reminders are separate toggles, so it’s possible to have one off without realising.

2. Check your phone’s settings

Your phone can silence an app regardless of what the app thinks.

• iPhone: Settings → Notifications → Flirty. Allow Notifications must be on.
• Android: Settings → Apps → Flirty → Notifications.

Also check you haven’t got a Focus mode or Do Not Disturb schedule quietly eating them.

3. Battery optimisation (Android)

This is the big one on Android, and it catches a lot of people. Aggressive battery saving stops apps receiving notifications in the background. It’s especially aggressive on Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Huawei, and Oppo.

Go to Settings → Apps → Flirty → Battery and set it to Unrestricted.

4. Sign out and back in

Notifications depend on a token that’s registered when you sign in. If it’s got into a bad state, signing out and back in re-registers it.
