Getting started
Photos, videos, and Stories
Uploading, moderation, and why something might not have appeared.
Adding photos and video
The photos and videos on your profile, and your Stories, are captured in the app, with no filters and no edits, so what people discover is the real you. It keeps profiles genuine and cuts down on catfishing. (Your profile picture, and photos you send in chat, can come from your gallery.) Media is compressed before upload, so a large video won’t eat your whole data allowance.
Uploads continue in the background. You don’t have to sit and watch the ring fill. If you go offline mid-upload, it resumes when you’re back.
Moderation
Everything is automatically screened before it goes live. This normally takes seconds.
If something is rejected, it won’t appear and you’ll be told. Common reasons:
- Nudity or sexual content
- Violence or gore
- Someone who appears to be a minor
- A photo that isn’t of you
Automated screening isn’t perfect. If you think something was rejected in error, contact us.
Stories
Stories disappear after 24 hours. They’re a low-effort way to show what you’re actually up to, which is far more interesting than a posed photo from 2019.
You can see who’s viewed your story if you have Viewer insights.
Recording length
Free accounts get shorter video recordings. Plus and above unlock 60-second recordings.
Something didn’t upload
Work down this list:
- Check your connection. If Flirty thinks you’re offline it queues the upload rather than failing it.
- Check permissions. Camera and photo access need to be granted in your phone’s settings.
- Give moderation a moment. Something still being screened hasn’t appeared yet, but isn’t lost.
- Force close and reopen. Fixes more than it should.
If it’s still stuck after that, get in touch and tell us what you were uploading and roughly when.
